Party spot: New Woodlands restaurant draws bigwigs to the Waterway — Scottsdale power players included
It might be a bit too chilly to enjoy the shaded patio, but the action inside the new Kona Grill in The Woodlands is up and running with its latest location delivering its signature American favorites and sushi offerings to that enclave considerably north of the first Houston Kona Grill location in the Galleria.
CEO Berke Bakay winged in from Kona Grill home base in Scottsdale, Ariz., for the opening night bash as did vice president of food and beverage Chris Moran, vice president of operations Jenny Elkins and corporate executive chefZach Bredemann.
Some 150 casually-attired guests arrived at the new eatery on Waterway Square to sample tastes of some of the restaurants most popular dishes, passed by waiters, and to try the sushi that was presented on a dramatic ice sculpture.
Among those that ate, drank and were very merry were district manager Michael Lawless, general manager Shayne Newcomb, Casey Snyder, Morgan Cole, Trent Meaux, Megan Lichenstein, Jennifer Coleman, Michael Coleman, Steve Dove, Barry Millenson, Charles Mauro, Ryan Gable, Nichelle Baird, Christie Lawler, Evan Goldberg, Johnny Meriggi, Cheryl Meriggi and Dieter Lehmann.
