Zombies in suits, b'day girl in Cavalli, b'day boy in velvet as they celebrateend of the world — not
While survivalists held onto their water tanks and manual can openers on Friday, Magan Hunt and Andrew Pappas tossed champagne at the end of the world notion and celebrated their December birthdays at the Petroleum Club as if there would be lots of gilded tomorrows.
When the lights of Houston failed to dim at midnight, waiters rolled in the birthday cake and Veuve Cliquot to mark the fact that there would be another day for more partying.
Some 100 pals turned out for the late-night End of the World Birthday Bash, where zombies in suits (they had to meet the club dress code) provided apocalyptic notes. A giant Mayan calendar reminded of the end-of-days predictions while replicas of the world's most iconic structures (leaning tower of Pisa, Eiffel Tower, London's Big Ben) delivered an international note to the partying.
The December babies dressed to impress — he in velvet jacket and purple suede shoes, she in Roberto Cavalli and $50,000 worth of jewels, including the tiara, all compliments of Houston Jewelry.
The birthday crowd included Steve Kennedy, Gregory Spencer Hudson IV, Adrian Pompa, Mandi Krasney, Amy McGee, twins Gabi Bahlo and David Bahlo, Chirstina Kearney, Silvio Canto and Stephanie Quisenberry.
