Vocalists shine at the annual Holiday Soirée benefiting Houston Children's Charity
What: The Annual Holiday Soirée Benefiting Houston Children's Charity
Where: Market Square Tower Ballroom; Henke and Pillot
The scoop: A musical and stylish crowd gathered for spirited performances, and a chance to give back to local children affected by Hurricane Harvey, via the Soirée’s charitable partner, Houston Children’s Charity. This year marks a decade that Houston Children’s Charity and Toys for Tots Houston have teamed up to ensure Houston children in need have a special Christmas.
Making the season brighter: Guests Michael and Sonya Delance surprised the group with an additional substantial donation to the charity.
The VIP party took place at the home of Robert King Levy III, featuring entertainment from Terrell Carter of the Fox hit show Empire, and a live auction for a work of painter Edgar Medina, which raised thousands for the cause.
The main event kicked off with a red carpet happening at Henke and Pillot in downtown Houston, and included a cocktail reception, and silent auction. Guests were treated to the sounds of New York hip-hop violinist Svet Radoslavof, Grammy-nominated and platinum-selling recording artist Mary Griffin, and Vincent Powell — American Idol finalist — who wowed the crowd with his just-released single, “Live Again.”
