The Woodlands party scene rocks as couple renews vows at holiday opener party
Tony's catered, Saks Fifth Avenue provided the A-list designer fashion show, Yvonne Washington warbled and the host couple renewed their vows (surprise!) in a smashing evening in The Woodlands, benefiting the American Heart Association of Montgomery Country.
Dr. Lamar and Theresa Roemer opened their Mediterranean palace to a well-heeled group of 130 guests for what was billed as the Roemers' Holiday Opener Christmas Party.
While the high-profile couple's home enjoys impressive proportions, the hosts ordered an elaborate party tent to house the chichi shindig that began poolside where the fashion catwalk had been installed across the blue waters.
No ordinary gown would do for this hostess. Theresa worked with designer Jonathan Blake to create her stunning black, off-the-shoulder gown with lace sleeves. The young designer was among the notables in the mix that included jeweler Mark Pharo, who donated a $15,000 piece for the raffle, and Saks GM Terry Zmyslo.
First up on this action-packed party was the fashion show around the pool featuring gowns for the holidays and furs for that illusive evening when the temps will drop. Second was the scrumptious five-course dinner by Tony's, served in the tent. Next came the Roemers' surprise for guests — they renewed their vows, always a crowd-pleaser. And as the evening wore on, gents wound their way to the cigar bar while the ladies headed for the truffle bar.
The party crowd included Diane and Gordon Strobeck, Tashina Meyers, Corey Hensley, Mary Alice and Barry Haest, Sandra and Keith Winters, Carolyn Farb, Soly and Dr. Bruce Lachterman, Eric Vaughan, Brian Teichman and Andy Cordes, Maryellen and Thad Miller.
