Monsour Taghdisi is one proud pappa and he proved it beyond beyond Saturday afternoon when he celebrated his son Cameron's first birthday with a party worthy ofLifetsyles of the Rich and Famous.
For the 90 adults and several dozen kiddies that gathered on the lawn of the Tanglewood home, it was pure playful fantasy starting with the full-sized carousel that whirled round and round throughout the party. Carousel horses sporting glittery patterns and royal blue ostrich plumes were scattered across the front and back yards, lending a rich equestrian carousel theme.
Somehow, Monsour, to the delight of the adults, convinced Shannon Hall of Sloan/Hall fame to be the stooge in the dunking machine. He received a splash bath more than a few times as the kids tossed balls at the release button. Shannon was such a good sport that he gleefully clanged symbols and taunted the youngsters throughout the afternoon.
A balloon artist created animals and playful headgear for guests including Becca Cason Thrash, who strolled across the outdoor setting while wearing a tower of balloons. Kid-sized tables and chairs were set up around the hot dog station while grown-ups could feast in another area on Persian fare from Cafe Caspian, a nod to Monsour's Persian heritage.
Among those going for rides on the carousel and aiming to give Shannon a bath were guests including Melissa and Michael Mithoff and their three children, Greggory and Pat Burk and their daughter, Laura Greenberg and her kids.
Taking an adult approach to the afternoon fun were Sima and Masoud Ladjevardian, John Thrash, Bob Devlin, Dominique Sachse and Nick Florescu, Neda Ladjevardian, Diane Lokey Farb, Kimberly and Frank DeLape and loads more.
