Key to the Cure crowd takes over Saks for a night of hot shopping & charity —shirtless hunk included
The Saks Fifth Avenue Key to the Cure Shopping Weekend drew a handsome crowd to the Galleria store Wednesday night for the launch party of the annual Charity Shopping Weekend, a fundraising and cancer awareness event that is held simultaneously at SFA stores across the country.
In each city, two percent of sales during the weekend are earmarked for local and national cancer charities. In Houston, the beneficiary is CancerForward: The Foundation for Cancer Survivors.
Several hundred guests grooved through the sleek department store sipping adult libations, nibbling on party fare and meeting special guests. Among them were Victoria Christian, Clive Christian perfume ambassador in from London; writer and author Catherine Anspon, signing copies of her book Texas Artists Today; and designer Bill Hamilton in from New York.
The evening was chaired by Joella and Steve Mach with Trish and Ty Whitcomb serving as auction chairs. Kelli and Eddy Blanton were honorary chairs.
In the party mix were some of the 17 Forward Movers, all cancer survivors including Barbara Padilla, Candice Schiller, Joann Crassas and Bill Crassas.
Among those joining the party were CancerForward founder Beth Moore, Randy Powers, Suzy Bergner, Sallymoon and Dr. Alan Benz, Donna Bruni, Michael Wiesenthal, Maria Bassa, Phoebe Tudor, Angela Chapman, Cindi Rose and Rosie Meyers.
