Uber stylist Cerón and his partner, Dallas-based party planner Todd Fiscus, who signed on as chairs for this season's series of swank Dress for Dinner fundraisers benefiting Recipe for Success, combined their talents Monday night for a stylish launch at Cerón Hair Studio.
A well-heeled coterie of 150 guests arrived to find the chic salon transformed into a trés chic lounge and the outdoor entry dressed in carpets, posh furnishing, mini-party tents and umbrellas all in a black and white theme accented with armloads of orange and pink roses.
The first on Oct. 23 knocks off our Manolos with the Badgley/Mischka team — designers Mark Badgley and James Mischka — as special guests.
Waiters passed Asian-inspired hors d'oeuvre from Kenichi and Wenge Foods while wine chilled in the ice-filled hair wash bowls and wildly popular Dallas DJ Lucy Wrubel spun the discs.
Recipe for Success founder Gracie Cavnar, accompanied by hubby Bob Cavnar, spread the word on the three upcoming "Dress for Dinner" fundraisers. The first on Oct. 23 knocks off our Manolos with the Badgley/Mischka team — designers Mark Badgley and James Mischka — as special guests for a fashion show and limited-attendance dinner at Saks Fifth Avenue.
The Dress for Dinner action moves to Neiman Marcus in March, when that retailer brings in a name designer for a fashion show and dinner, and then changes venues to Tootsies in May for the Fashion Gene Award evening. Tickets are available here.
Schmoozing through the party scene, a few with their blood orange margaritas in hand, were Karen and Mike Mayell, Terry Zmyslo, Dominique Sachse, Dr. Kelli Cohen Fein and Martin Fein, Marcia Backus, Mary Beth Aspromonte, Mark Sullivan, Cheryl Byington, Katy Atlas, Jeff Shell, Mauri Oliver and Denise Furlough.
