Fashionable femmes team with Kendra Scott to launch Recipe for Success' Dress for Dinner series
Shortly before the Labor Day change-of-season fashion switch, a bevy of style savvy women gathered at Kendra Scott in Rice Village for the launch of Recipe for Success' Dress for Dinner Series and many were standouts in their summer looks.
With Leisa Holland-Nelson and daughter Laura Max Nelson at the helm, the goal for the fifth annual series of fundraising events is to fill each of the six gatherings to capacity. And the enticements are there, including a High Tea and High Heels muster at Saks Fifth Avenue featuring renowned shoe designer Giuseppe Zanotti. Save the date Oct. 11. New to the previously strictly femme-fashion events is an In Love with Rock 'n Roll Men's Fashion Show and Fun Bites at M Penner, this one on Feb. 11.
The Dress for Dinner calendar includes an evening at Elizabeth Anthony/Esther Wolf, Fashion in Four Courses on Oct. 22; a Neiman Marcus, Spring into Summer Fashion Show and Dinner with a name designer in April and the popular Fashion Gene Awards and Dinner on May 7 at Tootsies. Details and tickets to the various events are available here.
For the kickoff, Kendra Scott donated 20 percent of the evening's proceeds to the Recipe for Success Foundation for its award-winning Seed-to-Plate Nutrition Education programs which combat childhood obesity.
Among those stepping out in the last of the summer's fashion statements were guests including Dr. Yvonne Cormier, Claire Cormier Thielke, Karen and Roland Garcia, Jane Wagner, Kelli Colbert, Carrie Colbert, Parissa Mohajer, Roz Pactor, Vicki Rizzo, Mauri Oliver and Tiffany Halik.
