Stylish crush at Fresh Faces of Fashion party heralds early start to fall socialseason
The palpable energy of the stylish crush in Tootsies on Wednesday night was clear indication that the partying throngs are ready to rock and roll. Hello, fall social season.
The Fresh Faces of Fashion event, presenting 10 trés chic femmes, and spotlighting the designs of Kelly Wearstler, was as much a salute to fall fashion as it served as harbinger of the serious partying to come. After all, Labor Day is only a few 24-hour cycles away and with that, as we know, the social calendar swings into high gear.
Spotlighted in this fifth year of Fresh Faces, presented by Houston Magazine, were Courtney Chapoton, Estela Sandoval Cockrell, Allie Fields, Joanna Hartland, Jennifer LeGrand Howard, Katy Mayell, Hannah McNair, Stephanie Perkins, Lindsay Radcliffe and Maude Werlin.
They were introduced by the ever-fashionable Isabel David, the magazine's national accounts manager.
A number of past Fresh Faces populated the runway seating that ran half the length of the store. They included Rosemarie Johnson, Audrey Cochran, Monica Hartland, Gina Bhatia, Brittany Sakowitz and Bevin Dubrowski.
Wearstler was in the house for a personal appearance, the designer hosted by Tootsies owner Mickey Rosmarin, who watched over the runway presentation with smiling approval.
Sharing in the enthusiasm for the night were George Lancaster, Diane Lokey Farb, Stephanie Cockrell, Julie Soefer, Jeff Shell, Lisa Benitez, Katie Flaherty, Tim Moloney, Greggory Burk, Heidi Gerger, Judy Nyquist, Jared Lang, Diane Caplan, Brad Marks, Cal McNair and Doreen Stoller, executive director of the Hermann Park Conservancy which was beneficiary of the night's donations.
Holding forth in the energized crowd were Houston Magazine publisher Peter Remington and editor Jeff Gremillion.
