Gearing up for school
SEARCH Homeless Services campaign brings in bucks for school uniforms
In yet another testament that the small contributions of many can make a difference, a month-long fundraising campaign for SEARCH Homeless Services led by chairs Lisa and Stephen Johnson will help parents outfit their kids for the upcoming scholastic year.
Supporters were asked to pick up the tab for $20 vouchers to underwrite the purchase of new school uniforms. After the efforts of the host committee and sponsor BoyarMiller went viral, the fourth annual Back to School with SEARCH raised $18,000. A wine reception on Monday at the Tasting Room in Uptown Park marked the end of the campaign.
Joining the charge alongside sponsors Savage Brands, Gochman Social Gazette, Two Chicks Communications and Parker School Uniforms were BoyarMiller chairman Chris Hanslik, Lasco Enterprises partner Jonathan Horowitz, SEARCH president Thao Costis, Toni and Gary Miller, Sally and Dennis Nelson, Manny Vela, Kim Padgett, Chris Beverly, Lisa Gochman, Jeneane Benavidez, Marilyn Russell, Doug Parker, Rodney Honerkamp, Cassie McGarvey, Jennifer Brand, Kimberly Evans and David Stockel.
