Acclaimed photographer praises nurses' courage at benefit luncheon

The 411: More than 400 supporters of nursing education turned out to hear Pulitzer Prize nomineeKaren Kasmauski, photographer and project developer specializing in global health issues, talk on the dangers that nurses face while working in the field, including war and environmental disasters. Her most recent book, "Nurse: A World of Care," tells in photographs the story of the moral courage of nurses around the world.
Soraya McClelland and Susan Cooley chaired the luncheon that honored Bette and Ralph Thomas for their support of the school of nursing and philanthropy in the wider community. in 2010, he endowed the School of Nursing’s Bette P. Thomas Distinguished Professorship for Innovative Healthcare in honor of his wife. Honors were presented by Peggy Barnett, who founded PARTNERS in 1994.
