A house that fights cancer: Sixth Pink Ribbon House gets a rousing sneak peekpreview
Neighbors might have wondered what all that coming and going was the other day at the spanking new house in Hunter's Creek Village. With more than 400 turning out for the preview of the Pink Ribbon House, there was definitely an uptick in traffic.
By the time it's all said and done with monies from sponsors, individual donations, product and services donations and tour tickets, proceeds from the sixth biennial Pink Ribbon House program are projected to reach $450,000, that money earmarked for the Lester and Sue Smith Breast Center at Baylor College of Medicine.
Welcoming guests to the house, which will be on tour this weekend and next, were Pink Ribbon House chair Debby Leighton, co-chair Mary Sapp Fischer and honorary chairs Cora Sue and Harry Mach. Also on hand was Hersh Levitt of Levitt Partnership, which built the house, and Brad Hollenbeck of Hollenbeck Architects, which designed the five-bedroom showplace.
Among those checking out the luxurious nest where a number of interior designers created sumptuous rooms were Dr. Paul Klotman, Sue and Lester Smith, Trish and Andrew Hayes, Jayne and Jack Kendall, Tricia and Panos Georgiou, Cissy and John Colucci, Dr. Emily Sedgwick and Jane and Ed Parker.
