Downton Abbey worthy garden party pulls in a record $801,575 for Brookwood Community
Applause, applause for Pat Breen and Franci Crane, who led the charge for the Brookwood Community at the annual gala where a record $801,575 was raised. Husbands Dan Breen and Jim Crane were on hand to lead the praise for the skillful fundraising.
"An Evening in the Garden" was the theme of the evening at Houston Country Club for which Richard Flowers of The Events Co. underwrote the decor creating a rich Downton Abbey/English garden motif.
Amid the flower-filled decor, Vinson & Elkins' Joe Dilg received the Jack T. Trotter and Betty Wheless Trotter Brookwood Legacy Award for Excellence and Partnership in Business. Also honored were the 2011 Brookwood gala chairs Celina Hellmund, Cynthia Petrello and Melinda Stubbs.
No question that this fundraiser enjoyed the support of the city's old families and esteemed citizenry with the turnout that included Isla and Tommy Reckling, Anne and Charles Duncan, Barbara and Gerald Hines, Ginny Simmons, Margaret Alkek Williams and Jim Daniel, Elizabeth and Peter Wareing, Linda and Dr. Walter McReynolds, Lee and Gary Rosenthal and Anne and Albert Chao.
