Fab femmes, $2 million in jewels and a sexy model mix in a River Oaks pool house with Spirit
The setting could not have been more glamorous nor the swans more fashionable than the flock that gathered at the River Oaks home of Jill and Calvin Schlenker for the Children's Assessment Center "Spirit of Spring" luncheon kickoff.
In the spirit of the season, the Schlenkers opened their pool house for the gathering of CAC supporters who were welcomed by luncheon chairs Ursaline Hamilton, Stephanie Perkins and Megan Sutton-Reed.
For the evening and for an in-store appearance the following day, the designer brought in $2 million worth of merchandise.
In addition to the DJ spinning cool tunes and uniformed waiters passing hors d'oeuvres there was a Saks Fifth Avenue model strolling the sleek salon-like setting in a spring gown by Pucci, the dress a preview of the Saks runway show to be featured in the April 5 luncheon.
The serious focal point of the evening was the collection of Sylva & Cie jewels from Paul Carter Jewels, the owner himself on hand as was jewelry designer Sylva Yepremian. Carter and Yepremian are donating to the luncheon auction a pair of chrysoprasegemstones and rough-cut diamond earrings, valued at $10,000. For the evening and for an in-store appearance the following day, the designer brought in $2 million worth of merchandise from home base in Los Angeles.
The fashionable mix included Laurel Blando, Susan and Mike Plank, Christie and Mark Sullivan, Shelby Kibodeaux and Bruce Padilla, Alissa and Kevin Maples, Jared Lang, Jennifer Roosth, Dana Kervin, Karen Turner-Smith, Susan Boggio and CAC executive director Elaine Stolte.
