River Oaks sandwich shop sports Nantucket vibe for poppin' party
What:East Hampton Sandwich Co. Pop-up
Where:Kirby Ice House
The scoop: Nearly 150 guests filled the back porch of Kirby Ice House to get a first taste of the nationally-acclaimed neighborhood sandwich shop. Founder Hunter Pond was front and center sharing stories about the concept and the inspiration behind some of their popular sandwiches. A portion of sales of the evening benefitted the Young Houstonians for Houston Children’s Charity, whose mission is to help underprivileged children in Houston.
Guests basked in summer-like tempratures, wearing Nantucket-inspired styles, while savoring handcrafted sandwiches — including mini lobster rolls and fried chicken and jack, plus whoopie pies for a sweet treat, and frozen libations.
The occasion served as a preview for the two upcoming East Hampton Sandwich Co. openings — the first in late April at River Oaks District, followed by a May debut in Montrose at 907 Westheimer.
