Hot New York DJ turns Asia Society Texas Center into a crazy party scene for 800 lucky guests
The elegant restraint of architect Yoshio Taniguchi's Asia Society Texas Center gave way to a vibrant tableau of international cuisine, dress and music Saturday night as "Spotlight Asia, Cocktails and Cultural Fusions" drew more than 800 sophisticated partygoers to the Museum District.
The colorful collection of guests as well as the heritage of the event's chairs reflected H-Town's ever-expanding international base. Divya and Chris Brown, Claire Cormier-Thielke and Rick Thielke and Janae and Kenny Tsai welcomed the throng that traversed all corners of the sleek center where food, drink and entertainments were offered.
In the Detours Lounge, we spotted Carlos Meltzer and Nick Espinosa in line for the popular sushi offerings from Glen Gondo's Sushic. On the second floor terrace, Fei Wang observed while William Miller puffed on the hookah with apple martini flavorings from Texas Hookah. Byron Hood sampled the wares from the Texas Saké Co. president and toji (sake brew-master) Yoed Anis in from Austin to promote his product made from Texas rice.

Memories were made for hundreds of partygoers who made their way to the Smilebooth site for loads of fun party pix.
After grazing through various food stations that included hummus and a spicy chicken curry from Boheme Cafe & Wine Bar, guests kept the dance floor packed thanks first to the sounds of H-Town's DJ Sun and then to the wicked sounds of DJ Kalkutta in from New York to spin her cross-cultural music.
Making the eclectic scene were Gina and Dr. Devinder Bhatia, Lily and Charles Foster, Dina Alsowayel and Tony Chase, Stacy and John Andell, Li Chang, Brian Ueng, Lyll Lin, Joe Ueng, Grace and George Eapen and Karina and Carlos Barbieri.
