Houston's Best Dressed are revealed: The wowing winners step out in high-style designer labels
The suspense is over. The Best Dressed honorees were unveiled at Neiman Marcus Wednesday night in a designer label-drenched fete, at which, if you didn't dress to kill, you might as well have died.
No one lived up to the stylish expectations more than the honorees. Consider the two women who move into the Best Dressed Hall of Fame — Melissa Mithoff and Merele Yarborough. Their designer choice was Zac Posen and Fotini, respectively. These two earned that vaunted ranking for making it onto the BD list for the third time.
The duo and the other eight honorees will be presented at the Houston Chronicle Best Dressed Luncheon and Neiman Marcus Fashion Presentation benefiting March of Dimes, to be held April 3 at the Westin Galleria Hotel. Luncheon chair Jana Arnoldy, wearing Oscar de la Renta, revealed that the featured designer will be Pucci.

The Chronicle's Jack Sweeney introduced the ladies whose hearts, we can guarantee, were fluttering on this night in the spotlight. Those making the list for the second time were Greggory Burk wearing Lanvin, Lisa Holthouse in Tom Ford, Susan Krohn in J. Mendel and Rosemary Schatzman in Oscar de la Renta.
Displaying their signature fashion savvy were newcomers to this Valhalla of fashion notoriety — Tiffany Smith wearing Valentino, Sima Ladjevardian in Lanvin, Stephanie Cockrell in Saint Laurent and Isabel David in Roland Mouret.
The host with the most on this evening was Neiman's GM Bob Devlin, who welcomed the stylish crowd to the store's couture salon for the festivities.
Joining the party were Millette Sherman, Scotty Arnoldy, Linda and Jerry Fields, Michael Mithoff, Lily Kooros, Sandy Barrett, Monsour Taghdisi, Phyllis Williams, Stacey Soriero, Rick Smith, Julia Frankel, Danny David, Roz and Alan Pactor, Ceron and Mary Ann and David McKeithan.
