15 food and drink specials saluting Houston's heroes on Veterans Day
Veterans Day provides Americans with an opportunity to thank those who have served in America’s Armed Forces. Restaurants across Houston are doing their part by extending a number of discounts.
Unless noted below, all offers are available on Monday, November 11. Both veterans and active-duty service members should be prepared to show proof of their status.
Azumi, a Japanese restaurant in River Oaks District, is giving veterans a 50-percent discount on their meals. A lunch bento box comes with miso soup, wakame salad, fried rice, two pieces of nigiri, and a four piece maki roll. Sister concepts Loch Bar and Marmo are also offering a 50-percent discount. Parties of eight or fewer only. Dine-in only.
Feges BBQ co-owner Patrick Feges is an Army veteran and Purple Heart recipient. Every year, the restaurant offers all veterans a free two-meat barbecue plate with two sides and a drink. It’s available on Sunday, November 10 at the restaurant’s location in Spring Branch and on Veterans Day at the Greenway Plaza location.
Kolache Factory is offering one free kolache and a free cup of coffee (excludes croissants, Polish varieties, and espresso drinks).
Kolache Shoppe will give all veterans and active service members one complimentary kolache of their choice. Greenway Plaza location only.
Molina’s Cantina is extending a 50-percent discount to veterans. Dine-in only. Excludes alcohol.
Perry’s Steakhouse & Grille is giving veterans a free pork chop dinner with purchase of a regular price entree by another diner. If a group of veterans are dining together, they’ll all receive 50-percent off their pork chop dinners. Available 4 pm until close.

Phat Eatery is extending a 30-percent discount to veterans and active duty military on both dine-in and to-go orders (excludes alcohol and online orders).
Pluckers Wing Bar is giving a free meal to veterans and active-duty military personnel.
The newly reopened River Oaks Theatre will give veterans and active-duty military a free movie ticket and popcorn for any screening on Veterans Day.
The Savoy, a neighborhood bar in Third War will provide a free lunch to veterans and active military. Choices include chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits, Savoy burger, and chicken wings with fries.
All three locations of State Fare Kitchen & Bar are offering veterans a free meal. Choices include a burger, birria grilled cheese, smoked chicken cobb, chicken fried ribeye, and more. Dine-in only. Beverage and gratuity not included.
Tavola, an Italian restaurant on Post Oak, is offering veterans a 50-percent discount on their Veterans Day meals.

Taste Kitchen + Bar will serve a free breakfast to veterans and active military personnel from 8-11 am.
Twin Peaks will serve a free lunch to veterans and active duty military. Choices include a cheeseburger and fries, smoked chicken tacos, chicken tenders, and chicken or shrimp Caesar salad. Lunch is served from 11 am - 3 pm.
Zanti Cucina Italiana in River Oaks is serving veterans a complimentary, three-course meal from a prix fixe menu of favorites such as truffle cheese ravioli, flank steak, and panna cotta.
