Restaurants across the Houston area will be honoring those who served our country with special deals on Veterans Day. Both veterans and active duty military personnel will find everything from heft discounts to free meals as a way to show appreciation for their service.
Note that a form of identification proving one’s status as a veteran is typically required to claim the discount.
Atlas Restaurant Group
The company’s three restaurants — Ouzo Bay and Loch Bar in River Oaks District and Italian steakhouse Marmo in Montrose — are offering a 50-percent discount to veterans and active duty military.
The Houston staple is offering a free burger to all veterans and active duty military at any of its Houston-area locations. Note that the Memorial Park restaurant will be closed due to the Houston Open.
Five of the company’s restaurants — The Annie Cafe, B&B Butchers, B.B. Lemon, NoPo Cafe, and Trattoria Sofia — are serving complimentary, three-course meals to veterans and active duty military. A veteran’s guest may purchase the same meal for $25.

The Brazilian steakhouse is offering a 50-percent discount to veterans and active duty military. In addition, the discount is extended to up to three guests per veteran.
This Thai restaurant in the Heights is offering veterans a 15-percent discount.
Both the Greenway Plaza and Heights locations will gift both veterans and active duty military one free kolache.
Veterans and active duty military will receive 30 percent off both dine-in and to-go orders at Katy’s popular Malaysian restaurant (excludes alcohol, not valid for online orders).
All three locations of the new, drive-thru pizza restaurant will give veterans and active duty military a free cheese pizza on Veterans Day.
Tobiuo Sushi & Bar
Veterans and active duty military will receive 20-percent off at Katy’s popular sushi restaurant (excludes alcohol).
All five Houston-area locations will offer veterans and active duty military a free meal on Veterans Day. Choices include cheeseburger and fries, chicken tenders and fries, pulled pork sandwich and fries, soup and salad lunch combo, and chicken or shrimp Caesar salad (one item per person, dine-in only).
In addition, the restaurant aims to raise $100,000 for the Tunnel to Towers Foundation by offering diners $5 off their meals when they make a $5 to the non-profit that provides mortgage-free homes to Gold Star and fallen first responder families with young children (among other endeavors).
All four of the company’s restaurants are offering Veterans Day discounts. They include: a free combo meal at Underbelly burger; one free entree at both Wild Oats and GJ Tavern; and a free entree under $75 at luxurious steakhouse Georgia James (we recommend adding a slab salad).
