Rising Dallas-based soufflé restaurant opens in bustling Woodlands development
Dallas-based restaurant Rise Soufflé has returned to the Houston area with a new outpost in The Woodlands. Located in the Creekside Park West shopping center (26435 Kuykendahl Rd.), the new restaurant opened its doors last weekend.
Described by founder Hedda Dowd as serving an "egg in celebratory form," Rise offers more than a dozen sweet and savory soufflés — think flavors such as Jambon & Gruyère, Smoked Salmon, Truffle-infused Mushroom, and Grand Marnier — alongside salads, sandwiches, and signature items like marshmallow soup (carrot and tomato bisque with mini goat cheese soufflés). Thoughtful touches like a tableside cheese cart and an interior decorated with French antiques made it appealing for both weeknight dinners and more celebratory meals.
“We are thrilled to be back in the area,” Rise CEO Chris Florczak writes in an email. “We felt the community and beauty of the surrounding area was a perfect match for our concept and climate controlled patio.”
Announced last year, The Woodlands location replaces Rise’s original Houston-area outpost, which operated in the Galleria-area’s BLVD Place development from 2016-2020. It joins existing restaurants in Dallas and Fort Worth.
The new location appears to be off to a strong start. In a review posted to twtx.co, blogger Albert Nurick praises the restaurant’s overall approach and its chef de cuisine, Cameron Achee.
“Rise is a great addition to the Woodlands dining scene, and is open daily. We’re looking forward to returning and sampling more of Chef Cameron’s delicious cuisine,” Nurick writes.
Rise is one of several new restaurants that have opened in The Woodlands this year, joining comfort food restaurant Bosscat Kitchen & Libations, wine-driven concept Sixty Vines, and wine bar/cafe Postino. In the months to come, establishments such as Dessert Gallery, Phat Eatery, and Niko Niko’s will all make their Woodlands debuts.
