Eat, tweet and be merry: HoustonPBS holds a unique, foodie fundraiser
If you tweet and you eat, then tonight is going to be a real treat.
Reheat that meat and pull up a seat, because Ch. 8's HoustonPBS is giving you a prime-time primer on how to make your culinary experiences more complete.
BonAppeTweet, airing this evening from 7 p.m. until 11:30 p.m., promises to be "a celebration of good food and good conversation."
Well, online conversation, that is.
You're invited to snag a smartphone and tweet along with HoustonPBS tonight, by watching the show and adding the #HoustonPBSeats hashtag to the end of your tweets. The show will explore everything from bountiful breakfasts in Columbus, Oh. to succulent sandwiches in the Bayou City to scream-worthy ice cream in Panama City, Fla. And everywhere in between, of course.
While you're tweeting, HoustonPBS will be listening. And eating. And tweeting along with you.
Foodies, we're pointing a fork at you to be tweeting by the bushel this evening. Besides, Whole Foods will donate $1 to the station for food-geared programming for every tweet tagged with the #HoustonPBSeats hashtag. And that just, well, tastes good.
There's also a viewing party for the show at 14 Pews — the former Aurora Picture Show house — with food, Saint Arnold's beer and Whole Foods goodie bags. The $20 admission charge includes a one-year membership to HoustonPBS (which normally runs $40). But the main thing is the tweets.
How can such a neat feat be beat? It can't. So c'mon. Let's tweet and eat.
