Pluckers arrives soon
Austin-based wing joint sets opening date for Memorial-area location
Good news for Memorial and Energy Corridor-area Texas Exes. Beloved Austin-based restaurant Pluckers Wing Bar announced it will open its second Houston-area location on the Katy Freeway October 17.
Formerly the site of 59 Diner, the new Pluckers will celebrate its arrival with a special party on October 13. Beginning at 4 pm, teams of five people will compete in Pluckers trivia, and every member of the winning team earns free food for a year. In addition, up to 300 will get a free dinner and 20 of those people will also win free Pluckers for a year.
“We are excited to open our second location in Houston,” said Pluckers co-owner Dave Paul in a statement. “The response to Pluckers on Shepherd has been overwhelming since the day we opened. We are searching for additional locations throughout Houston and have just signed a lease for our third, in Webster.”
That's right. Clear Lake-area residents will soon have their own place to go for signature sauces like Dr. Pepper and Baker's Gold. The Webster location will be on the Gulf Freeway just north of the NASA 1 Bypass.
The new Pluckers is just one of the Austin-based restaurants that are coming to Houston in the next few months. Construction continues on the city's first location of acclaimed ramen shop Ramen Tatsu-ya in Montrose and the eagerly-anticipated debut of Tacodeli on Washington Avenue.
