Out of Southwest Inn tragedy, Bhojan vegetarian Indian restaurant reemerges
Vegetarian Indian restaurant Bhojan opened at a new location last month in a strip center on Hillcroft that previously housed Sabri Nehari. If that name sounds familiar, that's because a fire that reportedly began in the restaurant's previous location at the Southwest Inn killed four members of the Houston Fire Department in May.
On its website, the restaurant acknowledges its notoriety but writes that "it is not yet concluded where or what the source (of the fire) was. Investigation is still taking place, we and all of our staff will comply fully with the law and will continue to provide information or whatever is necessary to help the authorities."
Despite that grim fact, many of the restaurants fans mourned its loss and are happy to see it reopened. "Great restaurant with great people. Me and my family visit this place whenever we wish to eat authentic Indian vegetarian food. I would highly recommend this place if you wish to eat Indian food," writes Vijay Aundhekar on the restaurant's Google+ page.
As with the original, the new location serves the popular, $11.95, all-you-can-eat buffet of Gujarati vegetarian cuisine. As seen in the photo above, the new space is clean and comfortable looking. Hit the comments with reports on whether the food lives up to the original.
