New Burger Joint
Texas A&M beloved burger restaurant opens in Houston, bringing boozy milkshakes
Houston may not lack for hamburger joints, but that hasn't stopped new restaurants from trying to get in on this city's seemingly insatiable appetite for grilled beef on a bun.
College Station-based Grub Burger Bar has now opened its first Houston location in CityCentre next to RA Sushi. The restaurant makes a full commitment to the gourmet burger movement with a proprietary beef blend, hand-cut French fries, buns that are baked fresh daily and an extensive selection of house spun milkshakes.
In keeping with the style of Houston's most high profile burger joints like Hubcap Grill and the Burger Guys, Grub's burgers come with an array of creative toppings. For example, the Texas Luau goes Hawaiian with roast pork, grilled jalapenos and grilled pineapple; the aptly named OMG is topped with chili, cheddar, onions and French fries.
Burgers are available on gluten-free buns. There are even salads for people who hate fun.
Both the luau and OMG toppings are also available on fries, of course. There are onion rings and sweet potato fries available as well.
Non-beef options include chicken, turkey, ahi tuna and vegetarian-friendly chickpea. Burgers are available on gluten-free buns. There are even salads for people who hate fun.
One way that Grub stands out is its beverage selection. Most burger joints only serve beer (and terrible wine), but Grub offers a full cocktail menu of fresh mint mojitos, fresh juice margaritas and, most importantly, boozy milkshakes. The Texaz is a chocolate milkshake that's been enhanced with tequila and coffee liquor. Yes, please.
Grub Burger Bar is open everyday from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m.
