Downtown Houston restaurant bar closes after water leak destroys kitchen

In a very low-key website posting, The Capitol at St. Germain recently informed patrons that it will be closed until further notice for kitchen maintenance and renovation.
Jennifer Lin Nguyen, a spokesperson for the downtown bar and restaurant, tells CultureMap that a water leak at the St. Germain Lofts caused significant damage to the sheetrock and allegedly "destroyed all of the kitchen."
This comes just after The Capitol unveiled spring lunch and dinner menus featuring "new creative dishes."
Nguyen said that a reopening date has not yet been set, and that the restaurant will "possibly" undergo dining area renovations as well.
Inquiries to the St. Germain Lofts' management company, RealManage, were not immediately answered.
