It looks like the JMH sign that's become a landmark in West University might become a T+H.
Tiny Boxwood's, the café inside Thompson + Hanson nursery that's hugely popular with River Oaksians (and Anna Wintour) is opening a second location in West U.
A representative for Thompson + Hanson has confirmed that the purchase of the former JMH Market at the intersection of Edloe St. and Rice Blvd. is "a done deal."
According to the West University Examiner, no final plans have been set for exactly how the 7,000-square-foot space will be used, but a Tiny Boxwood's employee said that while the nursery aspect is still under discussion, a café will definitely be part of the new site. Thompson Properties Management president Gregg Thompson told the Examiner that he hopes to open in the space within six months, and is inclined to open a variation on the Tiny Boxwood's theme.
"It is certainly a landmark ... it would be fun to have a business in there that would continue to serve the community in some capacity," Thompson told the Examiner.
Update: There's been some confusion on whether the Tiny Boxwood's on W. Alabama is closing. It is not. I've updated the headline and article to be more clear. -SR
