Watch out Panera Bread: A new Dallas restaurant chain is looking to take over the Houston market
Locally-based Fairview Capital Management LLC, comprised of partners Adam Beasley and Steve Whiddon, is planning to significantly expand its Corner Bakery Cafe franchises in the Houston area.
They are planning to open the region's fifth corner bakery on Monday in the Echo Lane Shopping Center at 9311 Katy Freeway. A $1,000 check will be presented to the Houston Food Bank during the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Fairview Capital Management will be opening cafes in The Woodlands and Katy later this year and has plans to open 16 new Houston-area Corner Bakery Cafes overall in the next five years.
Houston is a top market for franchise investment due to the area's booming economy, causing the Franchise Expo South — held last week at Reliant Center — to move its location from Miami to Houston this year, as the Houston Business Journal noted.
But the Dallas-based Corner Bakery restaurant chain isn't limiting its sights to just Houston. The company hopes to have 70 Corner Bakery Cafes in Texas by 2019.
