Booming national developer plots more than 1,600 homesites across Houston
In response to Greater Houston's never-ending housing demand, a development company is planning thousands of new sites to accommodate demanding buyers.
National firm Johnson Development has announced more than 1,600 homesites coming to the Houston market now through the end of the year over a range of areas. Jordan Ranch, recently named to a list of the nation’s 50 top-selling communities for the first time this summer, will receive the most lots at more than 500 sites featuring eight notable builders.
Houston's first farm-centric community, Harvest Green in Richmond, will see some 452 sites ranging from 45- to 75-foot properties, according to press materials. This extension will offer parks, trails, green space, and a pool in the agri-hood.
“For several years, Harvest Green was ranked among the nation’s top-selling and has been nearly sold out for about the past year," noted Michael Smith, CEO of Johnson Development in a statement. "We’ve gotten many inquiries about when this new 630-acre addition will be selling.”
Sienna, per Johnson Development, is slated to receive 145 sites by the end of October. The community is nestled in Missouri City and has been listed among the nation’s 50 best-selling master-planned communities for the past seven years.
Up north in Montgomery County, more than 200 homesites are tapped for Woodforest, which has been ranked among the nation’s top-selling master-planned communities — since 2009.
Grand Central Park in Conroe will see 102 homesites in the newest section of Grand Central Park, South Village, located near the 12-acre Deer Lake. The lush park at Deer Lake already boasts a fishing pier and pavilion; Grand Central Park was named “Best Overall Community Over 600 Acres” in the Texas Association of Builders’ Star Awards.
Located in the Bay Area community of Webster, Edgewater will receive 86 sites, many with views of Clear Creek, which runs through the community, plus a dog park, a lakeside dock, and a pollinator garden in the works.
“We are pleased to be able to bring these homesites to the market,” Smith added. “Texas continues to be a sought-after destination, and there’s a need for quality housing — especially in those communities that are nearing closeout. Homebuyers gravitate to highly amenitized, lifestyle-oriented communities, which is what Johnson Development brings to the table, and we’re pleased to once again be selected as the best developer in Texas.”
Boasting 19 active communities in Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, Austin, and Atlanta, Johnson Development has ranked No. 1 over the past 10 years with the nation’s most top-selling master-planned communities.
