Editor's note: Houston's fashion scene was buzzing this year with a mix of launches, expansions, and a surprising closure. An international luxury brand dazzled Rodeo-goers with meticulously crafted cowboy boots, while a local bootmaker shifted focus to bespoke craftsmanship. Readers were drawn to articles detailing expert tips for RodeoHouston style, the legacy of a fashion icon, a fashion designer’s scarves, and Beyoncé's favorite stylist making a career move. As we close out the year, here’s a look back at the top-read stories that celebrated style and highlighted Houston’s ever-evolving fashion landscape.

    1. Louis Vuitton steps up with limited edition, $8,000 Texan boots. The French fashion house Louis Vuitton entered the arena during RodeoHouston with their limited-edition LV Texan boots handmade by Texas master artisans. The boots, featuring LV iconography, were exclusively available at Louis Vuitton in the Houston Galleria for the duration of RodeoHouston.

    2. Japanese casualwear retailer Uniqlo opening 2 Houston stores in October. Fans of its stylish, affordable casualware were delighted by Houston gaining two Uniqlo locations—first at Memorial City Mall and later at First Colony Mall.

    3. Houston luxury western wear store suddenly closed 'until further notice'. After two decades of providing Western wear to Houston, Pinto Ranch surprised shoppers by inexplicably posting a closed sign on its door.

    4. Japanese casualwear retailer Uniqlo now open in Houston. Uniqlo opened its spot in the Memorial City Mall, featuring exclusive merch from local artists and businesses to celebrate the city's vibrant culture.

    5. Houston real estate icon's estate sale offers good deals for worthy causes. Shoppers had the chance to pursue the clothing, jewelry, handbags, accessories, art, and more from the late "grand dame of Houston real estate" Martha Turner. Proceeds from the sale benefitted Montrose Center and Healthcare for the Homeless-Houston.

    6. Cult favorite Houston bootmaker kicks off made-to-order collection. Owner and founder Zephan Parker decided to ditch all mass-produced inventory at Parker Boot Company to focus exclusively on bespoke, custom-made boots.

    7. Favorite Houston jewelry star unwraps coveted, limited-edition rodeo scarves. Christina Greene’s 100% silk rodeo scarves have been a RodeoHouston tradition for the past three years, with the 2024 design featuring guitars, boots, and a nod to rodeo chairman of the board, Pat Mann Phillips.

    8. 3 Houston fashion experts dish on how to craft the perfect Rodeo look. City Boots' Lizzy Chesnut Bentley, jewelry designer Christina Greene, and fashion designer Chloe Dao shared their top tips on what to wear to the Rodeo.

    9. Bargain retailer Nordstrom Rack picks Westchase for new Houston store. A new Nordstrom Rack location is slated to open in spring 2025 at the Westchase Shopping Center. The 30,000-square-foot store will entice shoppers with up to 70% off items, from apparel to homewares.

    10. Beyoncé's favorite stylist goes country for Cirque du Soleil's Songblazers. For Cirque du Soleil's first foray into country music, the company tapped famed stylist Zerina Rosette Akers to create the costumes for the show. Akers was Beyonce's personal stylist for nearly a decade and has styled other big names, including Megan Thee Stallion.

Saint Bernard teams up with Houston designer Lyndsey Zorich for Love Note.

River Oaks District boutique Saint Bernard is getting ready for fall with a new collection created with Houston style veteran Lyndsey Zorich. The fashion-forward retailer and the founder and designer of Mason's Daughter teamed up to launch Love Note by Lyndsey Zorich, a new Saint Bernard-owned brand.

Saint Bernard doesn't usually collaborate with local designers on its own brands, making this partnership with Zorich special. She was involved in everything from creative direction and textile development to fabrication and production. Shoppers can expect a feminine collection with a playful take on everyday dressing for women who want to look put together, but not too serious.

Love Note officially launches on Thursday, September 10 at Saint Bernard stores in Houston, Dallas, Southlake, San Antonio, and Austin, as well as online. Customers will have to be patient, because another unique aspect of this collaboration is that the entire collection won’t debut at once. Instead, the brand will roll out in a series of monthly drops, each having its own seasonal point of view.

The Kick Off is the first drop in September. It is a game day-inspired collection with pieces designed for fall sports and weekend road trips. In October, The Lean In will debut with more feminine silhouettes, followed by Getting Comfortable, which focuses on the perfect layering pieces for Texas’s warm fall weather.

A longtime Saint Bernard shopper herself, Zorich's unique style and Texas perspective gave her a greater understanding of what Texas customers want.

“Getting dressed has always been one of my favorite forms of self-expression, and Love Note allowed me to take that idea from concept all the way through the finished product,” said Zorich. "Saint Bernard felt like the right partner, because I genuinely understand and love their customers. Love Note is meant to bring a little more playfulness to getting dressed, pieces that feel personal, special, and bring joy to everyday life.”

That individual connection is what Saint Bernard wanted in this project. According to Ashleigh Goyer, director of owned brands for Saint Bernard, the store wanted a new way for Saint Bernard to give customers something both recognizable and unexpected.

"She shares her perspective, her lifestyle, and her love of fashion, and she has an incredible ability to make getting dressed feel effortless and personal," said Goyer.
