Pop-up tea party celebrates stylish fashion collaboration with flamingo spirit
Flamingos are everywhere at The Webster. The hip Miami boutique with a Houston outpost in The Galleria has teamed up with iconic Hong Kong luxury department store Lane Crawford to showcase a specially-curated collection of styles that capture the easygoing, colorful spirit of south Florida.
The collection for women, men, and children includes such kicky items as a Thom Browne whale print blazer, a pink satin Coach bomber jacket emblazoned with palm trees, red and pink flamingo print pajamas from For Restless Sleepers, flamingo print sweaters, T-shirts and brooches from Sonia Rykiel, swimming trunks emblazoned with a flock of flamingos from Orlebar Brown, and a Sunnylife eco lunch box with — you guessed it — two pretty pink flamingos facing each other.
Other noted brands like Courreges, Ground Zero, Lisa Marie Fernandez, Maison Michel, Master & Dynamic, Mira Mikati, Paco Rabanne, Palm Angels, Proenza Schouler, and Rosie Assoulin are featured in the collection, which is available at a pop-up shop at the Houston store, located next to Yauatcha in the jewel box building on Westheimer, through early summer. The items are also available online at TheWebster.us and LaneCrawford.com.
To celebrate the collection's arrival, guests gathered at the Houston store for an afternoon tea party hosted by Mandy Kao and Gigi Huang to benefit HOPE Clinic, a Houston nonprofit that provides health care services for the Gulf Coast area's under-served and linguistically isolated Asian communities. Yauatcha executive pastry chef USA Juan Pablo Colubri prepared the delectable goodies for the gathering.
Seen in the crowd were The Webster's Constance Bost, Hope Clinic CEO Dr. Andrea Caracostis, Amy Dichoso, Betty Gee, Pierre Alexandre, Tammy Su, Brigitte Kalai, Tracey Faulkner, Ruchi Mukherjee, Fifi Phi, Issa Chou, Rose Chen, Christina Zhou, Gina Li, Shawntell McWilliams, Payal Chana, Duyen Nguyen, Barbara Le, Sneha Merchant, Kristen McDaniel, Vanitha Pothur, and Vy Le.
