    A supermodel is bringing her style to Houston: Will The Galleria ever be the same?

    Kate Moss fans are about to get much closer to copying the supermodel's signature style.

    Topshop is launching a new Kate Moss Collection at the Nordstrom Galleria store and online April 30, featuring an eclectic mix of pieces encapsulating the British fashion icon’s unique and revered vintage style. This is not their first collaboration, of course, but Moss promises this new endeavor is more premium than previous lines. Makes sense that as she has matured, so has her style.

    “My first collection was seven years ago, and I have grown up since then,” Moss said. “Things that I want to wear are different.”

    Moss is now using more luxurious fabrics, including silk chiffons from London Soho, gold lame from Italy and intricate lace from India. This collection also reflects an increased attention to detail in trimming, stitching and beading.

    So what to expect for spring/summer 2014? Pieces that reflect her love for the Balearic Islands, for starters, along with pajama dressing, cocktail hour clothing and pieces dubbed “tailoring noir.” Items are based on Moss’ wardrobe, including vintage-inspired pieces that she deems difficult to find when shopping in secondhand stores.

    Since it launched in 1994, Topshop has become a major British style authority, and its flagship store in London Oxford Circus attracts more than 500,000 shoppers per week. Topshop and Topman also have flagship stores in New York, Chicago, Las Vegas and Los Angeles. Houston will get its own Topshop in spring 2015, when a two-level, 16,500-square foot store featuring both Topshop clothing for women and Topman clothing for men is set to open in The Galleria.

    The company teamed with Nordstrom in September 2012 to introduce a Topshop department in selected Nordstrom stores. The collaboration was so successful that Nordstrom added 28 Topshop and eight Topman departments last fall, including ones in Houston, Dallas and San Antonio.

    The Kate Moss Collection for Topshop launches April 30, online and in stores at Galleria Dallas and NorthPark.

    Industry pros and beauty lovers gather at The Makeup Show for product launches, live demos, and insider education from top makeup artists.

    Houston beauty pros, educators, and trend-obsessed makeup lovers rejoice The Makeup Show is making a glam comeback to the Bayou City this fall to celebrate its 20th anniversary after a four-year hiatus.

    This curated experience will take place from September 20-21 at the Hilton Houston Post Oak, bringing together the best and brightest in the beauty industry. Attendees will include everyone from makeup artists to brand owners, aestheticians, salon owners, photographers, models, and anyone who lives for the latest must-have product drop.

    In addition to showcasing a variety of innovative and prestige brands, including, Alcone Company, AppleDoll Beauty, Ashunta Sheriff Beauty, Danessa Myricks Beauty, Elora Lane, Kryolan Professional Make-up, MYKITCO, and Temptu PRO, the show will feature four educational stages. Attendees can learn from industry pros through educational talks and demonstrations. Keynote artists include Danessa Myricks, James Molloy, and Sheika Daley, with more names to be announced soon.

    Attendees can access show-exclusive discounts, test out new tools, and chat with the brands’ founders and executives to better understand the artistry and science behind what's in their kits. This year, for the first time, The Makeup Show will debut its Community Stage, spotlighting rising talent and fresh perspectives from emerging artists in the industry.
