Throughout his long fashion career, Mickey Rosmarin has never strayed off of Westheimer. He launched Tootsies as a hippie clothing store on lower Westheimer in the early '70s, and moved to Highland Village in the '80s with a store aimed at the upscale fashion conscious woman. After a quarter-century there, he relocated Tootsies to plush new digs at West Ave, the mixed-use complex at the corner of Westheimer and Kirby, last week. "It's been a long haul but it's been worth it," said Rosmarin, who took the move as an opportunity to design a store that he and his customers might like to live in. As the venerable high fashion store opened in its new location just as the winter storm hit, CultureMap took a peek inside.
