Sunday Funday: "$10 and Bring a Friend" at Fashion on Sale at West Ave withgreat bargains
We know Sunday is jam-packed. There are a bunch of people running really early in the morning and then, in the afternoon, some game, involving a ball and more running.
I’m exhausted just thinking about it.
How about a Sunday Funday that involves another sport, say shopping at Fashion on Sale? Sure, you could sprint from ModChic Couture to Alexandra Knight, zip over to Pomp & Circumstance and then jog to Tres Chic for up to 80 percent off of clothing, shoes, jewelry and accessories, but you don’t have to.
The final day of the discounted shopping experience at West Ave is high energy without all the racing around. There’s vintage, denim, furs, shoes, bags and beauty all in one place and with passed cocktails and light bites, you can leave the Gatorade in the car.
And since Sunday Funday isn’t complete without your very best gal pals, the last day is a little something we like to call Ten-And-A-Friend. Bring $10 and a friend and you are in. It’s simple and means more money to shop for, well everything.
We are kinda in love with everything at Fashion on Sale and can’t even begin to choose favorites, but just now there are still excellent deals to be had.
-Trina Turk, BCBG and Theory are on the Tootsies racks for 40 to 70 percent off. A BCBG snakeskin print dress is $129 down from $330.
-Elaine Turner’s sophisticated Audrey bags are on sale for $150-$200 originally $295-$395.
-Houston’s own ModChic mixes modern fabrics, feminine wiles and a touch of throwback charm to its designs. We spied a sign touting all items 50 percent off and a voluminous skirt with a white and purple print for $35, it was $70.
-Seven For All Mankind denim retails for as much as $215 are on sale for $109.
-The Vintage Contessa’s selection of authentic Louis Vuitton, vintage Pucci and Halston is goose-bump inducing, but her tongue-in-cheek LV gun holster for $200 is a fun splurge, especially for that person who has everything.
Some retailers such as Times Too have racks as low as $10, Lot 8 has dresses for under $35, the Blue Jeans Bar has great denim and TOMS for 50 percent off and we have heard (and seen) successful on-the-spot bargaining.
It’s a party, it’s a sale, it’s Sunday Funday. No running shoes required.
