No 50 Cent pieces: The anti-rapper convictions of Keri Hilson cannot slow downher career
It appears Keri Hilson doesn't do Twitter.
When the budding songstress appeared on Chelsea Handler's late-night talk show Chelsea Lately to promote her upcoming album No Boys Allowed, which is out Tuesday, she declared that she wouldn't deign to date a rapper.
Why? She's too smart for them. Hilson must not have caught that twitpic of Handler cozying up to her latest flame, rapper 50 Cent. Hilson said: "When you mix a man who has popularity, who has money, who has bitches — that’s a scary thing for me. I have a brain, I’m a little more than they bargained for.”
That faux pas aside, the 25-year-old singer from Decatur, Ga., won us over with another sound bite just a few sentences later. When explaining what kind of man she would want to date, Hilson said, "I'm looking for a man who can keep my feet on the ground. And also put them up in the air sometimes."
Get it, girl.
Hilson's album may be called No Boys Allowed, but it features collaborations with plenty of the industry's biggest male stars, including Chris Brown, Kanye West, Rick Ross, John Legend and Timbaland. She's also a collaborator on Dr. Dre's third and last studio album, Detox, out next year.
