Can you say Mumford?
Hold me, Jazz Fest: This is the best lineup ever for the Orleans party
New Orleans' 2011 Jazz Fest released its lineup today and we have one word: WOAH.
Cue the savings (two weekend passes at the cheapest level will run you about $280, $950 if you want your own bathroom) but we think an organ donation might be worth the trip. You can access the full lineup here, but here are our (OK my) top picks for the weekends:
Friday, April 29: English newcomers Mumford and Sons — listen to "Little Lion Man" and The Bookshop Sessions; North Carolina's bluegrass-y trio The Avett Brothers — listen to "The New Love Song"
Mumford & Sons - "Little Lion Man"

Saturday, April 30: Jazon Mraz, sorry I'm not sorry; Amos Lee; Bon Jovi
Sunday, May 1: John Legend and The Roots; THE great American folk singer Arlo Guthrie; The Decemberists — listen to their full new album, The King is Dead, here courtesy of NPR; John Mellencamp, aka Meg Ryan's new boyfriend
Decemberists - "Down by the Water"

Thursday, May 5: Wilco — listen to "Theologians" (don't know nothing about my soul); the legendary Lucinda Williams
Wilco - "Theologians"

Friday, May 6: The Woodlands' own Arcade Fire; Gregg Allman Blues Band — because even if he's inconsistent, he's still Gregg Allman; Willie Nelson
Arcade Fire - "We Used to Wait"

Saturday, May 7: The Strokes; Jimmy Buffet
Sunday, May 8: Robert Randolph & the Family Band — because I saw him with Eric Clapton in Hyde Park and the man's slide guitar will make you weak.
