Open Auditions for The Voice
The Voice is coming to H-Town: Open call auditions set for Minute Maid Park
Calling all Texans with a hankering to test their vocal talents on NBC's two-time Emmy-winning hit show"The Voice."
NBC has announced open call auditions for the show's 10th season and Houston is one of only four cities where the judges will sample the talent pool.
The auditions begin in Houston at Minute Maid Park on January 9, 2016, and continue on to Memphis, Chicago and Philadelphia, the latter two cities garnering two days of auditions. It's one day only for Houston where the last time the talent quest was held here there were more than 3,500 would-be stars lining up to sing.
The official on-line casting site notes, "We are looking for solo artists and duos that perform all types of music: Pop, rock, R&B, hip-hop, alternative, Latin, country, blues, indie. We want to know your story and why you are The Voice."
There are a number of eligibility requirements such as surviving background checks, surviving perusal of your family and housemates and turning 15 by March 28, 2016. You'll have to put on ice any plans to run for public office for at least a year and you'll need the bucks to pay your own transportation for the early audition rounds.
Texans have done pretty well on the show with Mesquite's Craig Wayne Boyd taking Season 7 and Cypress' Danielle Bradbery, at age 16, winning Season 4.
