A jolly good athlete: An in-shape Santa surprises race runners
Santa sighting!
The jolly holiday hero joined hundreds of racers in Bridgeland's recent annual Mistletoe Fun Run. As usual he was not incognito, rather boldly donning his iconic red coat and pants, black belt and boots and, of course, fur-trimmed hat topped with a white pom-pon, which bounced as he ran to encourage runners in the pack.
Santa and participants raised about $2,500 to help the the family of young Raelyn Cutbirth, who was diagnosed with cancer this summer. The Run Over Cancer event offered participants several options, including a half-marathon, 5K run or walk and a half-mile children’s race.
In addition to the run, Santa visited with families and, along with his merry helpers, led everyone in making holiday crafts.
