Vince Young comes home as Texas' gridiron prowess is questioned
If you've been hiding under a rock and haven't heard, Vince Young comes home tonight.
The much revered former Texas Longhorn and current Tennessee Titans quarterback will challenge the Texans in his hometown just as the national championship hopes of his alma mater come into question in a recent New York Times article.
Young famously led the Longhorns to a national championship title against the University of Southern California in 2006, scoring the game-winning touchdown.
That championship team is the one setting the bar for the current Texas lineup, according to coach Mack Brown. UT has recently come under some scrutiny, as it's been widely recognized that the Big 12 conference this year is a far cry from the powerhouse it was last season. It seems unlikely these days that there's any debate whether the Southeastern Conference or the Big 12 reigns.
If UT gets past A&M in its annual grudge match Thanksgiving Day in College Station, the Longhorns will likely play either No. 1 Florida or No. 2 Alabama for the national title in the Rose Bowl.
And without much of a challenge so far for UT, we're waiting to see how it plays out.
