Name: Lily, as in comedic legend Lily Tomlin and actress Lily Thai. I’m not crazy about the spelling. I would have gone with Lilly, but that’s your choice. It’s not like she brought a legal birth certificate with her to the shelter.
Birthdate: June 6, 2016. So I’m right in the middle of my salad years. (That’s an expression, please don’t even think about slipping me a salad for dinner.)
Ethnicity: The shelter has me listed as an English spaniel and cocker spaniel mix, but I think they were just throwing darts. This I know for sure, everybody at the shelter is crazy for me. They say I’m the sweetest, cutest, calmest, most affectionate pooch they’ve had in here for years.
I’m playful with children, grownups, and other animals. I like car rides and walks. I’m just your basic, all-around buddy. For a dog, I’m a pretty amazing social butterfly. Of course, when you adopt me, the shelter will make sure I’m spayed, guaranteed healthy, and groomed like a model on Deal or No Deal.
August 26 is National Dog Day, I expect to celebrate with my new family — nothing special, just a quest evening at home.
Come and get me: I'm available for adoption at 11 am Friday, August 23, at Citizens for Animal Protection (17555 Katy Freeway; 281-497-0591). Tell them, "Ken sent me."
