Up In Flames
Bizarre crash destroys $500,000 in luxury SUVs at Cadillac dealership
In a bizarre chain of events that resembled a stunt in a high-powered action movie, more than $500,000 worth of luxury SUVs were destroyed in a blazing fire early Tuesday morning at the Tom Peacock Cadillac dealership along the North Freeway near Richey Road.
The cause of the crash is under investigation, but authorities told KHOU Channel 11 the fire started after a driver of an SUV hit a sedan from behind on the frontage road at 1:45 a.m. The driver of the SUV then ran into a pole, which tipped over, landing on a vehicle, sparking the massive blaze.
The powerful fire melted the interiors of multiple cars, leaving just charred frames behind. Three women involved in crash were hospitalized.
Calls to Tom Peacock Cadillac general manager Steve Hainline and the Harris County Sheriff's Office were not immediately returned.
