2520 Robinhood, the Rice Village high-rise on Kirby Drive that has taken its juvenile feud with neighboring bar Hans' Bier Haus to the courtroom, is about to get a new neighbor.
Swamplot reports that the building on the opposite side of the high-rise has applied for a liquor license. Those pesky patrons of the patio to the tower's west (live music at a bar? That's bold) may have a new ally.
Adam Kliebert of Southampton Homes has owned the building at 2506 Robinhood St, which is listed as Southampton's business office, since 2001.
In January a judge granted residents of 2520 and the owners of Hans' a temporary mutual injunction, telling both sides to "stay out of each others' face until we have a permanent injunction."
The injunction came after months of alleged harassment by condo residents that included incidents of water getting sprayed and projectiles (beer cans, bottles and eggs) being thrown down from the condo at Hans' Bier Haus, which is partially an open-air facility. Bar owner Bill Cave was also charged with misdemeanor assault for allegedly dragging the condo concierge into an elevator by his necktie.
Let's hope this doesn't get too crazy. We wouldn't want beleaguered residents of the high-rise — where condos start at $250k — losing sleep because of some OOC beer-drinking bocce-ballers.
