Big guns: AK47-totin' thieves rob Atascocita Walmart
Atascocita Walmart greeters had a different sort of clientele to acknowledge on Tuesday when a trio of robbers armed with assault rifles held up the store around 11 p.m.
The men wore ski masks and carried AK-47s. Though the superstore off of FM 1960 was full of employees and shoppers, no one was harmed.
According to KTRK, "Witnesses say the suspects never fired their weapons, but did escape with lots of cash."
Walmart could not give further details about the robbery, as the investigation is ongoing under the Harris County Sheriff's Department. Investigators were not immediately able to find the culprits, but surveillance videos from the incident are under review.
"We appreciate the quick response from local authorities and will continue to provide information to them for their investigation," said Kayla Whaling, a spokesperson for Walmart.
