Rooftop Dinner Service
As Steakhouse opens roof with spectacular views to dining, young professionals enjoy the view
The timing couldn't be better for B&B Butchers and Restaurant owner Benjamin Berg, the weather is about to get cooler and Daylight Savings Time is fast approaching. Perfect timing for introduction of full-service dining on the restaurant's rooftop patio with fab views of the downtown skyline, particularly stunning after dark.
First to sample the enhanced patio, now covered with a smashing white pergola, and the new budget-friendly menu were members of the Hermann Park Conservancy. More than 75 supporters, including a number from the young professional Urban Green group, turned out for the member appreciation cocktail party.
In addition to al fresco socializing, the non-profit announced upcoming projects and events.
For those who didn't attend, the loss was theirs as Berg pulled out the stops for the evening. On the menu was a vast array of passed hors d'oeuvres including mini Beef Wellingtons, crab cakes, the famous "Carpet Bagger” appetizer (cajun fried oysters, thick cut bacon and blue cheese), mini "B&Brie" on toast with bacon chutney and blueberry puree, and truffled chicken salad in a crispy wonton. Add to night of genteel grazing was the generous board of gourmet cheeses and chacuterie.
The parting crowd included Jose Figueroa, Margaret Justus, Bart Truxillo, Susan Wood, Maggie Sims, Kristen Bollinger, Claire Holme, Craig Stone, Sara Stone, Betty Salanic, Nathan Hill and Leah Hanson.
