Max's Wine Dive comes clean on its 2nd Houston restaurant, promises a "unique" surprise
Max's Wine Dive intends to open a second Houston location in Montrose — as CultureMap first reported in March. Back then, we reported that the popular concept from Lasco Enterprises was securing a space at 214 Fairview, although a company representative later tried to almost comically deny it in a conversation with Eater Houston.
Well, Lasco is ready to tell the whole story now. Fairview it is.
"This bustling neighborhood is mere blocks from the crowded restaurant scene on Lower Westheimer, where MAX's future next-door neighbor Cuchara already has established the intersection as a flourishing culinary corner," reads a statement released on Friday.
The new Max's Wine Dive, the release continues, will occupy 2,500 square feet in the renovated grocery store at Fairview and Taft — a significant increase over its inaugural (and invariably packed) location on Washington Avenue.
In the remaining 500 square feet of the parcel, Jerry and Laura Lasco will open a "small, as-yet-unnamed concept" that is "unique and exciting" and that "the neighborhood will really embrace." Exactly what that concept is will become more apparent closer to the restaurant's opening date.
