In a fashionable nod to fast approaching Mother's Day, Recipe for Success honored mother-daughter duos in its second annual "Dress for Dinner: The Fashion Gene Awards" evening at Tootsies. Think moms in Oscar and Alaia and daughters in Zac Posen and Yigal Azrouel as they strolled the catwalk to generous applause.
Cerón and Todd Fiscus, chairs of this season's series of Dress for Dinner benefit evenings, were in their element surrounded by fashionable women in the high style setting of the West Ave emporium. Recipe for Success founder Gracie Cavnar welcomed guests and turned the program over to Clifford Pugh, CultureMap editor-in-chief, who served as emcee of the lively parade of femmes.
Stepping out in the latest fashions were Liz and Katie Decker, Arvia and Bradlee Few, Brenda and Lindsey Love, Kathy and Jennifer McCord, Suzie and Lizzy McGee, Leisa Holland-Nelson and Laura Nelson, Phoebe and Caroline Tudor and Melissa and Mia Mithoff.
The moms and daughters were just part of the evening's entertainment that began with a runway show of Tootsies spring looks and closed with fall fashions from Marchesa. For those ponying up a bit more, dinner with Cerón, Todd and Tootsies proprietor Mickey Rosmarin followed, with a special menu prepared by Philippe Schmit.
The fashion flock included designer David Peck, Diane Lokey Farb, Alex Blair, Karina Barbieri, Yasmine Haddad, Lauren Rottet, Roz Pactor, Harry Tudor, Davon Hatchett, Lily Nasar, Frann Lichtenstein, Vicki Rizzo, Mauri Oliver and Dr. Angela Sturm.
