Fashionista heaven: Stylish new Houston salon launches with wedding gown wows
From her bungalow shop on D'Amico Street to the chichi environs of River Oaks Shopping Center, Luvi Wheelock has moved her twin fashion endeavors — Casa de Novia Bridal Couture and Atrium Ready to Wear. And a celebration was in order.
Wheelock threw open the doors to the bridal salon of her side-by-side boutiques with a launch party that drew 150 ladies in waiting (for the altar), fashionistas and a sprinkling of gents who appreciate the well-dressed woman. Affirming the tony fashion mood, the hostess stepped out in white satin gown by Yigal Azrouel and Jimmy Choo stilettos.
While the fashionables oohed and ahhed over the Monique Lhuillier trunk show and the numerous designer frocks, waiters circulated through serving appetizers from Cordúa Catering and bubbly from CHA Champagne and Wine Bar. Fulfilling the demands of any nagging sweet tooth were pint-sized macaroons and cupcakes from Petite Sweets.
The fashion flock included Sonya Shernak, Tanya Bonnette, Estefania Lacayo, Katy King, Christina Sanborn, Keely Thorne, Brian and Diane Kingshill, Allie O. Veselka, Kristen Glidden, Becky Hobson, Jennifer Hobson, Allison Young, Kristina Rosenwasser, Carolina Vilchez, Maria Vilchez and Allison Bailiff.
