Indie band Airborne Toxic Event discovers Houston food and drink scene during extended visit
What does a break-out indie band that is in town to play the inaugural CultureMap Close-Up Music Series do in their down time?
The Airborne Toxic Event, hot off the release of their new EP, The Secret, took in some of the flavor of Houston's rich culinary cuisine, sipped on a few lattes, and hit up Lower Westheimer over the past few days.
Violinist and coffee drinker Anna Bulbrook was spotted at both Catalina Coffee and Blacksmith. She also stopped in at Uchi for dinner as she walked around Montrose.
Bass guitarist Stephen Chen wolfed up a bucket of crawfish at Ragin' Cajun, enjoyed Uchi, and hit up Anvil Bar & Refuge after his performance Saturday night at Asia Society of Texas with fellow bandmates Noah Harmon and Mikel Jollett.
Next stop, Austin for two electrifying performances at SXSW Wednesday and Thursday. If you missed the band during their Texas jaunt, you can catch them on The Letterman Show March 20 on Channel 11.
And they'll be back in Houston on April 29 for a performance at House of Blues. Wonder where they will hang out then?
