HOUSTON TO HOLLYWOOD

Mayim Bialik makes a big bang on the red carpet at the Screen Actors Guild Awards wearing Houston designers

Houston’s style makers jumped into the award show glamour pool at the 18th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards after actress Mayim Bialik donned local designers David Peck and Nini Hale for her big night out. Bialik, Houstonian Jim Parsons and the rest of The Big Bang Theory cast were nominated for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.

Former local stylist Alison Kahn made the Houston-to-Hollywood connection after working with Peck in the past. After Bialik fell for the long Vae gown from his CrOp collection, the fashion deal was sealed. Bialik name-dropped Nini Jewels for the stunning citrine and sapphire frog cuff, much to the delight of E! interviewer Ross Matthews, who swooned over the colorful piece.

The Los Angeles Times also took note, singling out Bialik's Nini Jewels frog bracelet for praise as part of a new trend towards unique and different jewelry. "The days of just piling on the diamonds are over," the newspaper noted.

Hale's publicist Tim Moloney says she is "absolutely thrilled and so happy Mayim wore the frog bracelet," but is admittedly overwhelmed by the rush of attention.

As a celebrity stylist, Kahn knows her job isn't complete until her client hits the carpet, and says she is so happy with all the publicity Bialik is getting.
