What: Houston Symphony Young Associates Council season launch.
Where: Gremillion & Co. Fine Art.
The 411: It was an artful, tasteful beginning for the 2014-2105 symphony season for more than 120 mostly millennials who gathered for the first in a series of events tied into the symphony season. This philanthropic society of young professionals has raised more than $250,000 for symphony coffers since its founding two years ago.
Council chair Audrey Cochran and Symphony Society president Bob Peiser welcomed guests and introduced symphony clarinetist Sasha Potiomkin who performed and entertained questions for guests. A Fare Extraordinaire provided food and drink for the merry throng that included council steering committee members Divya and Chris Brown, Rachael and Jason Volz, Brandon Cochran, Jessica Johnston, Seth Williams, Catherine and Matt Matthews, Nathaniel and Brooke Richards and Mark Stadnyk.
Who: Symphony fans included a few beyond the council age limit — David Wuthrich, Nancy Peiser, Ed Osterberg and Mauro Gimenez — as well as YPs including Claire Cormier-Thielke, Lindsay Canning, Edward Heap, Maryam Afshari, Alfonso Barrera, Ann and Jonathan Ayre and Ashley Salazar.
