Milan Fashion Week remains an epicenter of style as many of fashion's top names recently unveiled their spring/summer 2018 collections, A lot of the top Italian designers have Houston boutiques, so we chose some of our favorite looks from five heralded fashion houses whose styles are likely to cross the Atlantic into local stores and influence fashion trends worldwide.

Gucci

Gucci designer Alessandro Michele has revived the luxury brand with a refreshingly idiosyncratic style that has captivated fashion editors and customers alike. For spring/summer 2018 Michele offers an eclectic collection with lots of pop culture references, from '80s Dynasty shoulders to Elton John-inspired glam and cartoon favorites like Snow White and Bugs Bunny, along with vintage looks and tweedy styles.

Prada

The most thoughtful of designers, Miuccia Prada incorporated the work of eight female comic artists into her spring/summer 2018 collection to urge women to be strong and competitive.

Bottega Veneta

Bottega Veneta designer Tomas Maier specializes in sophisticated styles. For spring/summer 2018 he jazzed up the chic collection with color and lots of embellishment, including feathers, nailhead studs, jewels, mirrors, and metal eyelets.

Fendi

For their spring/summer 2018 collection Fendi designers Karl Lagerfeld and Silvia Venturini Fendi merged Italian Futurism with tropical travel in a swirl of Caribbean colors. Accented, of course, by lots of fabulous Fendi handbags, including the debut of  the Mon Trésor bag, a mini bucket in exotic leather festooned with metallic pearls, and the new Runaway tote in transparent tartan mesh with rounded rattan handles.
